Title, Thank You

The following people contributed documents, expertise, and technical support that helped "The Oaks in the Progressive Era" take shape. I can't thank these people enough! It has been a great pleasure getting to know each individual on this list, and I hope to work with them all in the future.

Sandra Macomber, Librarian at the Oregonian, offered the use of her microfilm scanner for crisp, clear newspaper articles.

Brian Johnson at the Portland City Archives patiently unearthed a wealth of documents.

Frank Purcell, Historian at the Sellwood-Moreland Improvement League, offered me a goldmine of photographs from Sellwood's neighborhood association.

Vollanne Stephens and Joseph Norling of the Oaks Park Association warmly welcomed me to Oaks Park on each research trip.

Lori Kuechler and the volunteers at the Portland Police Historical Society retrieved the Women's Protective Division documents for me to review and allowed me to use a photograph of Lola Baldwin on this site.

Steve Kenny and Mark Moore of the Webfooters's Postcard Club introduced me to the exciting world of postcard collecting.

Herbert Beals, a Portland-based cultural history consultant, graciously shared with me information on The Oaks he collected while completing a different project.

Debra DeRuyver and Jennifer Evans of the Public History Resource Center set the standards for history web exhibits and graciously shared their expertise with me.

Luan Nguyen, Jeff McCaskey, Phanichandra Guntum, and all the other nice lab attendents in the basement of Cramer Hall patiently helped me with html and graphic design problems each time I became stumpted.

Katy Barber and David Horowitz, my dedicated advisors at Portland State University, deserve another mention... their efforts made this a stronger website.

Libby Mendenhall and Heather Reynolds, fellow students of mine in the Master's program, offered their editing assistance and made great suggestions.

And last (not least!) Leif Paulson, my husband, gets a big "thank you" for his support and for reminding me every once in a while that a whole world exists outside of the library basement.
